1. Before you start
Please check the following so that your request can be accepted immediately:
- Resolve any active SOS alert you have sent.
- If you own a shared Family Space that still has other members, transfer ownership to another member (Profile → Manage spaces → choose the space → Transfer ownership) or remove the members. Family Spaces where you are the only member are deleted with your account.
- If you have a paid subscription, cancel it in your Apple or Google account settings. Deleting the account does not cancel or refund a Store subscription (see the Refund Policy).
- Save any information you want to keep, or ask us by e-mail for a copy of your Care Data in a machine-readable format (JSON). Once deleted, data cannot be restored.
- Have your current password ready.
2. Delete your account in the app
Open KinPulse, go to Profile → Delete account. The screen lists what will be erased and any step that still needs to be completed (active SOS, family ownership). Enter your current password and confirm. If a check fails, the app explains what to do; fix it and try again. As soon as the request is accepted, you are signed out on all devices and the account is blocked. No further confirmation e-mail is required.
3. Delete your account by e-mail
If you cannot access the app, send an e-mail to [email protected] with the subject “Delete my account” from the e-mail address linked to your KinPulse account. To protect you from fraudulent requests we will verify that the request comes from the account e-mail and may ask you to confirm a detail that only the account holder knows. We will not ask for your password. Once verified, we perform the same deletion as in the app and confirm by e-mail. We process verified requests without undue delay and in any event within one month, as required by Article 12 of the GDPR.
If you no longer control the account e-mail address, tell us in your message; we will explain which alternative proofs we can accept. Requests from a legal representative of a deceased or incapacitated user are handled in accordance with Spanish law (LOPDGDD, Article 3) and may require supporting documents.
4. What is deleted and when
When your request is accepted, the following happens:
- Immediately: all sessions and refresh tokens are revoked, push tokens are removed, pending invitations are cancelled and your sharing grants are withdrawn. Nobody can sign in to the account any more.
- Within minutes to a few days (automatic background job, retried until it succeeds): your user record, profile photo, personal care space with all Care Recipients, plans, records and notes, your AI conversations with their photos, your notifications and reminder subscriptions, SOS alerts you sent with their locations and voice notes, the notifications other members received about your alerts, emergency contacts of Family Spaces you owned alone, and Family Spaces where you were the only member.
- Within 30 days: any short-lived operational backup copy is deleted or overwritten.
- Files stored with our image-storage provider are deleted by the same job; if the provider is temporarily unavailable the deletion is retried automatically; if it cannot be confirmed within 30 days we complete it manually.
5. What may remain
Some information is kept, for the reasons below:
- Care Data in a shared Family Space that other members still use: those entries belong to the ongoing care of that family and remain visible to its members, with your name replaced by an anonymous identifier.
- Information that other members already saw, copied or exported before you deleted your account.
- Onboarding survey answers submitted before an account existed, which are stored separately and are deleted no later than 12 months after submission — tell us in your request if you want them deleted immediately.
- Support e-mails exchanged with us, kept for up to 24 months, and records we are legally required to keep (for example subscription-verification records under tax law) or that are needed to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, for the applicable limitation period. These records are kept isolated and are never used for any other purpose.
6. Delete only some data instead
You do not have to delete your whole account to remove data. In the app you can:
- delete individual records, notes and Care Recipients; deleting a schedule archives it and its past records remain until you delete them;
- delete AI conversations, which also deletes the photos attached to them;
- revoke sharing of a Care Recipient with a Family Space, remove members or leave a Family Space;
- remove your profile photo and change your name (to change your e-mail address, contact us);
- disable notifications and revoke device permissions.
7. Uninstalling the app
Removing the app from your device deletes local data on that device (settings, SOS cache, voice-note files); on iOS the sign-in token kept in the Keychain may persist until it expires after 30 days, so sign out first. Uninstalling does not delete your account or your data on our servers and does not cancel a Store subscription. Use one of the deletion routes above to erase your account.
